Delta faucets are among the most popular brands of kitchen and bathroom faucets at the moment. The Delta Faucet Company, which was formed in the 1920s, has quite a wide range of brands in its stable and these include Peerless Faucets (a value oriented brand) and Brizo, which offers high fashion and design. Given the company’s size and scale you can be sure that these are quality products backed by superb manufacturing facilities and excellent and innovative design facilities. These include the company’s Diamond Seal technology, which is designed to make valves last for more than 5 million uses by coating them with a hard internal coating of diamond embedded on a ceramic disk that makes them last ten times longer than most others. For this article though, I’m going to keep things focussed on Delta.
The Delta Faucet Range
Delta is perhaps most famous for its kitchen faucets (which I’ll talk about later) but it also has some beautiful and innovative bathroom and shower faucets. But its coolest and most loved is the touch sensitive faucet. Let’s start with that.
The Delta Touch Faucet
The touch faucet is cool in that you can bump or touch it more or less anywhere and it will switch on, allow you to wash your hands, and then it turns off again. The idea is that if you have your hands covered with dirt or even if you’ve touched something like raw chicken, you don’t want to spread that all over whatever you touch next – most often the handles on your faucet. With this you just touch it on the stem or anywhere else and on it goes. Delta calls it Touch2O technology.
It’s not often that taps get written up in Gizmodo, the tech blog, but they called this:
Geeneeus functionality, and perfect, minimalist design
They point out that it is a bit of a hassle to install yourself so suggest you get a professional to do it. It is also a bit expensive costing between $300 and $500.
Delta Kitchen Faucets
The more standard range of kitchen faucets comes down quite a bit in price. The Delta Leland (pictured) can be bought for under $200 (although the list prices easily go $100 more than that – ignore those and shop around).
These are pretty simple and in some ways even classic looking faucets yet on the inside they are packed with technology including the Diamond Seal that means they probably won’t leak in your lifetime.
It has a pull-down hose that gives you a lot of flexibility and it has a really good magnetic lock that holds it in place. People like the quality and the fact that it has a great finish. The workings are also really smooth and deliver an excellent flow and mix of water.
You can also get it with a matching soap dispenser if you need one.In addition it comes in a variety of finishes.
Delta Bathroom Faucets
One of the cooler bathroom faucets on offer is the Delta touch lavatory faucet. You probably don’t need a touch faucet in the bathroom, but it sure is nice to have one. It also meets all of the water saving standards out there.
Delta Shower Faucets.
The best value shower faucet on offer is the Economy Water Saving Shower Head (pictured below). This costs less than $20 but the big saving is not on the purchase price, its on the water usage. The shower head uses about 1/3 less water than other comparable showers based on the company’s research showing that bigger drops if water provide better coverage than smaller ones, while still saving water. The spray pattern is also designed to give good coverage.
